Who We Are

Continental Movement for Peace & Youth Empowerment

The African Youth Peace Corps (AYPC) is a continental, youth-led organization dedicated to advancing peace, leadership, volunteerism, humanitarian service, civic responsibility, and sustainable development across Africa. Established to harness the immense potential of Africa's youth, AYPC serves as a platform for empowering young people to become catalysts for positive change within their communities and across the continent.

AYPC was established to mobilize, train, empower, and coordinate African youths in promoting peace, security, conflict prevention, humanitarian assistance, ethical leadership, and community development. Through structured training, volunteer service, advocacy, dialogue, and strategic community engagement, the Corps equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and values required to address Africa's social, economic, political, environmental, and security challenges using peaceful and sustainable approaches.

The organization envisions a new generation of African Peace Ambassadors and Community Transformation Leaders who are committed to fostering unity, social cohesion, human security, and inclusive development. By encouraging non-violence, civic engagement, volunteerism, and collaborative problem-solving, AYPC empowers young Africans to become active contributors to national, regional, and continental development.

The African Youth Peace Corps is an initiative of the African College of Crisis Management and Peacebuilding (ACCMP) and operates as a structured civilian peace corps with coordinated national, regional, and continental frameworks. These coordination mechanisms support the realization of African unity, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and sustainable development in alignment with the aspirations of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and other relevant continental and global development frameworks.
